The CIT Program is a true induction
program for teachers new to Spokane Public Schools. The program
was developed and is supported jointly by Spokane Public Schools
and the Spokane Education Foundation.
Our goal is the success, growth and retention
of new teachers in the education profession. We are a confidential
advocate for teachers.
The Career in Teaching Mentorship program includes:

- Modeling Lessons & Team Teaching

- Workshops & Seminars
- Non-Evaluative Support
- Monthly Email
Additional support for teachers includes:
- Assistance with implementation of district curricula and grade
level expectations
- Assimilating new people to their school and the district
- Lesson planning and design.
- Classroom management
- Creating positive classroom environments
- Fostering and maintaining professional relationships with parents
and colleagues
- Engagement strategies
- Instructional assistance across the curriculum
- Problem solving, encouragement and emotional support
