The construction of the modernization/new Rogers High School is being funded through the support of the Spokane community in passing the $165.3 million facility improvement bond in March 2003. The district-wide plan includes replacement of three elementary schools, modernization of three high schools, and updates throughout the district. Modernization/New Rogers High School Project Facts Location: Rogers High School is located at 1622 East Wellesley Avenue on the northeast side of Spokane in the historic Hillyard District. The art-deco designed building was originally constructed in 1932. The modernization of the facility will include updating the interior of the 1932 buildings spaces. The Pittsburgh Street Annex Building will be demolished, along with the current Family and Consumer Science/Art Building. During construction, students will remain on campus. A multi-phased construction approach will be utilized over the 18-20 month modernization for student safety. Athletics will be held off-site during the majority of the construction, as new field house construction takes place.
