Technology grant to support Logan community project

Logan Elementary School, one of just four Washington schools chosen, recently received a $65,000 Beaumont Foundation Technology Grant.

The grant provides for two COWs (Computers on Wheels – each including 15 wireless lap tops), a wireless laser printer, a projection device with a document camera and six digital cameras.

“In order to get the grant we had to come up with a compelling project,” said Susan Dellwo, Logan’s librarian on special assignment. “For our project, we are doing research on the Logan neighborhood, and will then spin that into a video production. It is very exciting!”

The Beaumont Foundation is dedicated to the principle of digital inclusion, meaningful participation and information literacy with the mission of providing access to information for everyone, everywhere, anytime.
For more information, please contact Susan Dellwo at 354-3441 or Vicki Soderberg at 354-3480.
