Talk to me: Students control computers with voice commands
Without a mouse, with barely a keystroke, students in Spokane Public Schools’ business education courses are doing work on the computer. As they learn to use voice recognition software, students are navigating their desktop and actually producing Word documents, databases and spreadsheets primarily with voice commands.
Ferris business teacher Cheryl Gould is instructing the voice unit this week during the 5th and 6th period Digital Communications Tools classes (Wednesday from 1:03-2:30, Thursday from 1:03-2:30 and Friday from 12:37-1:30 and 1:37-2:30).
This is a great chance to see some of the technology our students are learning to use.
