SPS congratulates All-State musicians
Representing five high schools, 31 students from Spokane Public Schools recently were chosen to participate in the 52nd annual Washington Music Educators Association All-State bands, orchestras, choirs and jazz ensembles.
The students were chosen based on recorded auditions done in September. More than 3,000 students auditioned for positions in one of the bands, choirs or orchestras.
The outstanding musicians are:
Ferris: Tom Pearson, jazz band; Macee Baker, symphonic choir; Annie Mayhew, symphonic choir; Erin Solvie, symphonic choir; Brittany Wheeler, symphonic choir; Grace Chapin, symphony orchestra; Evan Jackson, wind ensemble.
Lewis and Clark: Jeffrey Barkert, chamber orchestra; Trace Cassel, concert band; Melissa Lindsay, concert band; Gregory Holtz, symphonic choir; Katie Sloan, symphonic choir; Whitney Burr, treble choir; Amanda Hughes, treble choir; R.J. LeClaire, wind ensemble; Joe Sullivan, wind ensemble.
North Central: Ashley Delzell, symphonic choir; Deva Duffey, symphonic choir; Maureen Haven, symphonic choir; Shane Henning, symphonic choir; Chris Hensz, symphonic choir; Brenna O'Malley, treble choir; Tairra Sitek, treble choir; Chelsea Wordell, treble choir; Maggie Capwell, wind ensemble.
