Community Safety Partnership Forum Tonight
Spokane neighbors are invited to the first Community Safety Partnership forum tonight at 7 p.m. at Shadle Park High School.
The forum is a new partnership among Spokane Public Schools, the Spokane Police Department and the Spokane Fire Department to provide safety information to the community.
Participants will have the opportunity to hear presentations on drugs, gangs, identity theft, Internet predators and traffic safety. Informational booths will include CSI: Spokane, Spokane Public Schools security, Operation Family ID, fire education and the Walking School Bus, to name just a few. There also will be demonstrations on the installation and use of child safety seats, the new helmet law and the proper way to wear a bicycle helmet.
Those who come are urged to bring a camera to take advantage of the many fun photo opportunities available.
Future forums will rotate among the district's high schools: Rogers - March 1, Lewis and Clark - April 5, North Central - May 3, and Ferris - June 7.
