SPS students awarded honors scholarships
Eight students from Spokane Public Schools have earned honors scholarships from the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction.
OSPI awarded Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarships for the 2004-05 school year to Danny Crytser from Ferris High School and Brian Christensen, Leslie Griffith, Eric Parker, Whitney Porter, Emilee Smith, Annie Virnig and Cody Wymore from Lewis and Clark High School. The students are among the roughly 140 scholarship winners from throughout the state. Approximately 15 scholarships are given to students in each of the nine federal congressional districts.
Students who are selected to receive the scholarship generally have at least a 3.8 GPA, and have scored at least 1350 on the SAT.
Each student awarded will receive approximately $1,500. The scholarship is renewable for four years.
