Welcome to the Library!
The library is a wonderful place for children to grow and learn, to dream and create, to think and consider. During the school year we will take a look at well-written and well-illustrated books and some of the techniques writers use to strengthen their work. Primary grade classes will practice several strategies taught by their classroom teachers for developing reading skills. Intermediate grades will learn how to locate materials in school and public libraries. All grade levels will consider ways to find information that will answer questions they have about the world and how to evaluate information sources for reliability.
Remember that reading is like any other skill--the more time you spend at it, the better you get. Good reading skills are a major factor in success in school and in life, so enjoy some terrific books and give yourself the gift of a brighter future!
