ARCHITECTURAL & ENGINEERING SERVICES
The Architectural & Engineering Services Group is responsible for various capital improvement projects that enhance the educational environment, improve safety and security, and prolong the life of the district's facilities. We have two licensed Architects, an Electrical Engineer, a Mechanical Engineer, and a CAD Draftsperson on staff. These people are responsible for designing and managing 3 to 4 million dollars worth of capital improvements each year.

Each year the District reviews facility related needs district-wide, prioritizes those needs through site visitations and discussions with principals, staff, central services, and community representatives, and implements a process of correcting and addressing those needs through our Architectural and Engineering Services Group. This process, known as the Annual Capital Improvement Program, is critical to the success of our educational mission.
Finally, the District also employs a Resource Conservation Specialist to assist in keeping the District's utility costs at a reasonable level. This individual makes recommendations regarding physical modifications and building system improvements, implement resource conservation projects and pilot programs, and provide education for our staff. He can also assist with curriculum pertaining to energy and resource conservation and sustainable design and construction. Every dollar that we can 'avoid' spending on utilities is a dollar that can go toward the District's primary mission of educating the children of our community. |
