The Portfolio
Guidelines:
The Portfolio is the
evidence of your learning. You will keep all of the work that
you have done for this project in your portfolio. When it is
complete, give your clean and organized portfolio to your English
teacher prior to your final presentation so that the judges
will have an opportunity to review it.
The first thing in your portfolio
that the judges will see will be the final copy of your Proposal
Letter with its rubric. Your Letter of Intent will allow the
judges to have the basic background they need before watching
and hearing your presentation. This will allow your judges to
get to know you, your project, learning stretch and goals before
the presentation. During the presentation, you will demonstrate
what you learned and how it stretched your learning, state your
goal and present evidence that you reached that goal and show
or give a description of your product or performance and how
it was a result of your research (how it allowed you to practice
what you had learned).
You will then include
all of the paperwork that you completed in order to propose
your project: your project plan, parent/guardian acknowledgement
form.
Include your Learning
Log. You will need to make copies. This is your proof of work
time on the project.
Include the rubrics
for your Research Paper and Product/Performance, along with
all of the stages of your research paper. Include your notes,
outline, rough draft, and the final paper itself.
At the very end,
include the portfolio rubric. You will see the results of your
portfolio before your presentation. If you are required to make
any changes, you will hand it in again and see the results before
presenting. Since you will not have the portfolio in your possession
before your presentation, make sure that you have copied any
materials that will aide in the preparation of and during your
presentation.
Your portfolio needs
a cover on which you need to have your name, project title and
current date.
