The Researched Paper

What is it and how do I do it?
The Researched Paper will demonstrate your ability to access sources and interpret meaning, organize thoughts, analyze new knowledge and findings, form reasoned judgments and conclusions, write with skill and communicate effectively what you have learned.

Requirements:

  • The research paper will be 4-8 pages long, typed and double-spaced
  • The research paper will include each of the following sources at least once:
         - Internet/electronic databases
         - Magazines, newspapers, journals, books, or other printed materials
  • The research paper will relate directly to your Culminating Project’s product/performance
  • The research paper will include notes and outlines to document and organize information

  •      Take thorough notes during your research; this will help you when you write the actual paper. Notes can include summaries, paraphrases, and direct quotations of sources. Create an outline that includes topics, subtopics, and key information. Write at least one rough draft that allows you to edit and revise your work. Rough drafts can be written or typed.
