DIGI-WALKER IDEAS

 

Kids just have fun using the digi-walkers. The more they use them, the more active they become!

Putting On & Opening Digi-Walkers

Have the students put on the digi-walkers and move around a bit.  Have them do as many steps as possible in:

  • 15 seconds
  • 30 seconds
  • 60 seconds

Give them a goal for the period (# of steps to reach) for an:  A, B, C

Digi Challenge/Digitized

Volleyball

  • As a warm up have half the kids work on their form; setting, forearm pass, volley with a partner.
  • Kids in circle, don't need to have ball.
  • Remainder of kids jogging or jump roping around the gym.

Basketball

  • Have students dribble around the gym for 1 minute.
  • Check the digi walker. See if they can do more steps in less time. Challenge a partner.

Relays

  • Check steps after running, estimate skips, estimate gallop.
  • Have kids record their steps in group. Take back to class to figure average.

Stations

  • Using step boxes, jump ropes etc. Have students record steps while they are at that station.
