Components
of Fitness
- Measure
and perform to health related standards for aerobic endurance,
muscular
strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility.
- Understand
and demonstrate the setting of goals for improvement in
fitness
components.
- Measure
and understand how body composition relates to overall health
and fitness.
- Apply basic
knowledge of fitness to individualized fitness and health
plan.
- Use technology
to measure areas of fitness (heart rate monitors for aerobic
endurance and a device used to measure body composition.
Activities
& Safety
- Perform
fundamental and complex physical skills involved in lifetime
activities as well as in individual and team sports.
- Understand
and demonstrate safety in physical activity.
Health
- Understand
the relationship between diet and overall health and physical
performance.
- Identify
health risk factors.
- Demonstrate
sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork skills in a variety
of activities.
- Consumer
Knowledge - understanding of consumer knowledge (i.e., label
reading, knowledge of ingredients, and protein to carbohydrate
radio).
- Identify
and measure basic human anatomy and physiology.
Social
and Emotional
- Individualized
goal setting for fitness components.
- Individualize
goal setting for health related components (i.e., diet and
exercise through a variety of activities).
- Demonstrate
sportsmanship, leadership, and teamwork skills.
