Pocket Book Project
DIRECTIONS:
- Choose a research topic and gather resources - books, encyclopedias, magazines, internet
- Read your materials to build schema/background knowledge
- Think of your 3 focus questions (use the form). Check with Mrs. Jordan before beginning your research.
- Take notes to answer each question before writing your paragraphs. Be sure to keep track of the resources you use. Write your bibliography on separate note cards.
- Write your rough copies of your report (focus questions) and your made-up creature's physical and "Day in the Life" journal entry.
- Revise and edit your writing.
- Copy/publish your work on note cards for your pockets.
- Illustrate your Pocket Book with drawings that support your writing. Be sure to follow the guidelines for illustrations/projects.
- Put your project together and turn in.
FIRST POCKET
Your first focus questions (description) and a bibliography
of the resources you used for the project.
SECOND POCKET
Your response to the question
THIRD POCKET
Your second focus question
FOURTH POCKET
Your response to the second question
FIFTH POCKET
Your third question
SIXTH POCKET
Your response to the third question
SEVENTH POCKET
A description of your creature
EIGHTH POCKET
A journal entry for "A Day in the Life" of your creature.
Use typing paper for this and design a special border to go around it.
REQUIRED:
- Use colored pencils for all your drawings
- Drawings must cover all white spaces
- Drawings on the pockets should have something to do with the content of the pocket
- All writing must be carefully edited and in ink
