What’s New or
Happening....
Executive Committee Vote
Two executive committee positions
are available. Mark Iverson and
Greg Jones have served on the committee for two consecutive terms and are
stepping down. Nancy Janzen and
Duane Sunwold have been nominated so far. If
you or someone you know would like to be considered for the positions please
contact the executive committee or let them know at the May 20 Apple Action
meeting. Mark and Greg have
done an outstanding job on the committee. They
have both worked very hard during the past two years to see that APPLE continued
to grow! Thank you Greg and Mark
for all your hard work.

We are in
need of a theme for next year and possibly for the following year.
Also, some ideas for Spring Events.

APPLE ACTION MEETINGS
FOR
2002-2003 SCHOOL YEAR!
IMPORTANT
NEWS: By now you
should have attended your required 4 meetings and have 90 hours or be very
close.
All meetings are held on
Tuesday Evenings, the dates are:
May 20, 2003(election
night)
Childcare is available in the hallway by the gym during these meetings.
Tables will be set up for QUIET activities.
Good examples are books, coloring, puzzles, board games, homework, etc.
If you are interested in volunteering you will earn DOUBLE APPLE

APPLE COMMITTEES
1.
AUCTION COMMITTEE.
The
auction committee has been broken up into 5 individual committees.
For the Auction to continue each of the following committees will need a
chair person as well as a mentor or co-chair.
1.
Auction Food/Beverages
This committee is in charge of obtaining a liquor license,
organizing the food and beverages, etc.
2.
Auction
Procurement
This committee is in charge of organization of procuring
items, writing bid sheets, making gift certificates, etc.
3.
Auction Volunteer
Job Coordinator
This committee is in charge of organizing all of the
volunteer jobs including set up and clean up of the auction night.
4.
Auction
Tickets/Printing
This committee is in charge of printing tickets; catalog,
sending out tickets and invitations, etc.
5.
Auction
Cashiering
This committee is in charge of set up and oversees the
cashiering and all that entails.
2. CELEBRATIONS
COMMITTEE.
Chair:
Lisa Regehr. The Celebrations
committee needs volunteers. The
celebrations committee will work with the Planning and Spring Events committee
to coordinate events that tie in with the yearly theme. Contact Lisa Regehr
3. PROGRAM PLANNING COMMITTEE
Chair:
Merrie Dehmer. The program planning committee is in need of volunteers.
This committee works with the teachers to help plan events and activities
for the year incorporating our yearly theme.

4. SPRING EVENT
Chair:
Merrie Dehmer. Volunteers needed. This
committee plans the Spring Event that is a culmination of the years’ events
and activities surrounding the yearly theme.

5. ENROLLMENT COMMITTEE
Chairs:
Becky Davis and Mona Higgins. At
this time the enrollment committee is full.

6. FOREIGN LANGUAGE COMMITTEE
Chair:
Lisa Giddings. This committee coordinates foreign language classes for Franklin
at large. Contact Lisa is you’d
like to help.
7. ORIENTATION COMMITTEE
Chair:
Duane Sunwold, Mentor: Angie Hayes. This
committee is full. If you have
questions contact Duane or Angie.
8. DISTRICT COMMITTEE
This
needs a couple of people to represent Franklin APPLE on a committee consisting
of representatives from the district and both APPLE programs to
discuss issues regarding APPLE within the district and the community.
9. KITCHEN POSITION
The
Kitchen position is open. This
individual is in charge of stocking and maintaining the APPLE Kitchen between
the ½ and ¾ classrooms. Contact
Executive committee if interested.
10. LIBRARY POSITION
Renee
Leonhardy will run the Library position. She
is in charge of organizing the library located in the Apple core are.
11. HOURS POSITION
Evelyn
Hamann. Tracks hours and meetings
attended.
12.
NEWSLETTER POSITION
Lisa
Regehr. This position issues a
newsletter to all Apple 9-10 times per year.
Sends out email notices to Apple families for other committees.
13. TREASURER POSITION
Robert
Van Halderen. Keeps track of APPLE money. Maintains
budgets for individual committees and standing positions.
The
executive committee and chairs of the above positions meet every month on the
Tuesday before the APPLE Action meetings. The
meetings are open for anyone who wishes to attend. The meetings for the summer months are: June 17th,
July 15th and August 12th.

Indians! Sit together in one block
of seats! Enter to win prizes in

The Monart Drawing Schools
is offering a wide range of summer camps for students who wish to learn how to
draw. They take children ages 6-

martial arts, day camps sports), Teen Programs, (workshops, special events,
