SAFETY ALERT...AGAIN!!!!!!

Parents, not only is it unsafe, but it is illegal to stop in the middle of the street and drop your child off in front of the school on 17th ave.   You are to use ONLY the parking lot across the street to drop your child off.  The safety Patrol is there to see that your child crosses the street safely.  Parents it is your responsibility to model this behavior for your child.  There will be police patrols coming.  If you are caught stopping in the middle of the street to drop your child off on 17th you could be ticketed.  Please put safety first for all the children at Franklin.   Thank you!

VOLUNTEERING IN THE CLASSROOM

Our teachers are excited to have parents helping out in the classrooms. Just a reminder to please be sure to show up if you sign up. Teachers plan their schedules and lessons around the times parents are signed up. If you are unable to come for your scheduled time, please find a replacement if possible.

BARN DANCE

There will be an all APPLE family Barn Dance and Bonfire this Saturday, October 18 from 4pm – 9pm.  It is at the Rockford Grange Hall in Rockford WA.  It will be a potluck dinner from 4-6, then folk dancing from 6 – 7:30 with Susan Dankovich.  Then we’ll all trek across the street to the park for a bonfire.  The Students are making homemade ice cream, the old fashion way and during the bonfire we’ll pop popcorn again the old fashion way as well as toast marshmallows for smores!

We need families to bring the salads, main dishes and beverages of their choice.  The celebrations committee will provide water, juice, coffee/cocoa, paper plates, napkins, cups and silverware.  We’ll need volunteers to help with set up and clean up. Please contact Lisa Regehr or Mark Iverson if you can help out.  Set up at the Grange begins around 2pm.

RUMMAGE SALE SATURDAY OCTOBER 18TH

Grants Suirt 'A' hockey team is going to have a rummage sale at Eagles Ice-A-Rena this Saturday and we're looking for 'stuff'! If you have anything laying around to get rid of we would love to take it for you! Call or e-mail me if you have anything!

I'm at the rink for practices both Wednesday (6:30-7:45) and Thursday (5:00-6:45) or can pick-up on Friday!    We'll take anything items you’re getting rid of!

START YOUR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING EARLY!

Be sure to remember your checkbook next week--the sixth grade class is having a fundraiser over the next two weeks, which will raise money for their end of the year trip. Prior to the Tuesday night APPLE Action meeting, we'll have a table set up next to the sign-in table, where you'll be able to start your holiday shopping early!
We'll be selling Human-i-Tees, which are really cool tee shirts and other items that have environmental themes. The neat thing about this fundraiser is that it not only contributes to our class, but Human-i-Tees has donated over $2 million dollars to educational groups that support the importance of preserving and protecting our natural treasures.
We'll have tee shirts, mugs and other items to order, and we'll have these items back to you before Thanksgiving. Just think how great you'll feel after purchasing your Holiday gifts a whole two months early!
