APPLE NEWS
Franklin Elementary
Feb. 23, 2007
The APPLE Auction is literally days away and procurement is at an all-time low. Several families haven’t turned in paperwork and/or items. Please do so ASAP. Many activities that go on behind the scenes can’t happen until everyone has turned in their paperwork and items. For questions about the auction, please contact the chair, Kimm Hill.
Other Auction news:
AUCTION TICKET
money is due by 3 p.m. today (Feb. 23). Please deposit your money and/or unsold
tickets in the box labeled “Auction Ticket Money,” which is located in the main
office. Please put everything in an envelope with your name on it
JOB SIGN-UP remains incomplete as we still need item runners and receivers. These people are part of the “logistical heart” of the auction as they move items through holding and checkout. If this doesn’t happen, guests who have spent a lot of money to support our program get angry and impatient. Let’s not make them stand in a long, slow-moving line waiting to check out. We REALLY need people to fill these jobs. To sign up, please contact Ginny Keys . She’ll keep calling families for help until these jobs are filled.
PIT CREW TRAINING takes place at 11 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 24) at Kimm Hill’s home. Pit crew members are required to attend.
COOKS AND FOOD COMMITTEE
members need to have
appetizers and desserts to the
Southside Senior Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave., by noon the day of the
event. Salads must be there by 3 p.m. Everyone must follow through on cooking
commitments for us to
serve our famous buffet.

The event, which is open to all APPLE parents and caregivers, takes place at 6 p.m. on March 27 at the South Hill Twigs, 4320 S. Regal.
In Twigs’ Martini 101 course, “students” learn the ingredients for six martini drinks, tips and techniques for hosting a cocktail party and the elements of a perfect home bar. Appetizers and a special take-home gift are included in the $36 fee, which includes tax and gratuity.
