What is the Parent/Teacher/Guardian Group (PTG)?
For those of you unaware of what the PTG or Parent Teacher
Group at Franklin Elementary is:
It is a group of parents
who meet on a monthly basis throughout term time with the
senior management,
both teaching and business, to discuss
events within the school as well as any concerns that need
to be addressed. All parents and guardians are welcome to
attend!
This group consists of any parent who wishes to help plan
fundraisers, the annual school carnival,
maybe a teacher's
appreciation dinner, etc. All parents are officially
members of the Franklin PTG and are always welcome at our
monthly meetings.
Apart from these meetings, our other role is to raise
money for the school. You may ask why
this is necessary,
but this money is for those little extras that make our
school so special, not for
textbooks or teachers' salaries!
In the past we have given money to provide for special
learning
experiences for our children, technical equipment
for the Auditorium, play equipment and many other things
our children enjoy.
The Parent Teacher Group (PTG) is active in many aspects
of the school community. Each school
family is asked to
participate in the activities in whatever way they can.
All of the activities are a great
way to meet other
parents and accumulate service hours, as all PTG
activities and events are organized and
staffed by parent
volunteers.
We need your help and appreciate new ideas. Come meet
others concerned about supporting the
staff and students
at Franklin Elementary. If there are any issues you
would like to raise, please feel free
to come to the
PTG meeting and let your voice be heard.
So come and be apart of Franklin's Elementary School!
All parents and guardians are
welcome!
