English Language Development Program

"The goal of the ELD Program is to develop the English language proficiency of eligible English Language Learners (ELLs) so that they can become socially and academically successful in Spokane Public Schools"

Here at Glover ELL students take up to three classes in the ELD classroom, each providing instruction at a level appropriate for the language proficiency of the students. The content areas of instruction are social studies, language arts, and study skills. The students complete their schedule with basic education classes with the ELD teacher giving support as needed. The Glover ELD Program reflects the diversity of languages and cultures found in Spokane Public Schools which has over 44 different languages represented. Among the countries most recently represented by Glover students are Nepal, Marshall Islands, China, Mexico, and Myanmar.
