AXA Achievement Scholarship ($10k+) Deadline: 12-15-08
Open to seniors with demonstrated outstanding achievement in school, community and workplace activities. To learn more and to download applications go to www.axa-achievement.com

Society of Automotive Engineers ($1-10k) Deadline: 12-1-08
Open to seniors planning to enroll in an engineering or related sciences program fall ’09. Applications are available online www.sae.org/students/engschlr.htm.
Gates Millennium Scholars Program Deadline: 1-12-09
This program was established to provide outstanding, low income African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American and Hispanic American students with an opportunity to complete an undergraduate college education in any discipline they choose. Criteria includes: U. S. citizen or legal resident; 3.3+ GPA or GED; first-time college enrollee; nomination by a teacher or counselor; demonstrated leadership through participation in community service, extra curricular or other activities and meet federal Pell Grant eligibility criteria (FAFSA). EWU Advantage Scholarships Deadline: 2-1-09
Available to graduating senior first generation college bound with preference given to economically disadvantaged. You must major in English, computer science, education or health science. Apply at www.ewu.edu/easternadvantage

Art Institute of Seattle-various scholarships Deadline: varies
A variety of scholarships are available to seniors planning to attend AIS including; Passion for Fashion Competition (11/21/08) and Best Teen Chef (2/6/09) Information is available at www.artinstitutes.edu

Governor’s Scholarship for Foster Youth Deadline: 11-10-08
Various scholarships are available for emancipated or foster youth planning to attend an accredited post-secondary program. Applications are available at www.collegesuccessfoundation.org/gs/index.htm

ACT SIX Leadership and Scholarship Initiative Deadline: 11-1-08
A full-tuition, full-need urban leadership scholarship for 1st generation college students passionate about learning. Five students will be selected to attend Whitworth University and four will be selected to attend Gonzaga University. Information and application available at www.actsix.org

GSBA and Pride Foundation Scholarship Deadline: 01-23-09
The Greater Spokane Business Association and the Pride Foundation award scholarships to build leadership and promote diversity in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and straight-ally communities. Applications are available at www.pridefoundation.org or call 1-800-735-7287.

Imagine Tomorrow 2009 Event Date: 05/28-29/09
The 2nd annual energy competition for Washington High School students with opportunities in all subjects: social studies, sciences, art and design. How would you power your future? Choose from four challenges: technology, design, behavior or multidisciplinary collaboration. Team up with one to four other students from you high school to answer the challenge. Find details and register at www.imagine.wsu.edu. There is no registration fee and up to $100,000 will be awarded.

Car of MY Future Deadline: 03-06-09
The Washington State Auto Dealers Association awards four scholarships ranging from $1500 to $4,000. Applications and information is available online at www.wsada.org/scholarship

The American Legion Boys State and The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Deadline: complete ASAP
The nation’s premier program to develop tomorrow’s leaders. If you’re up for it, we’ll give you a week that will shape your lifetime. Both events will be held this summer at CWU. The American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Deadline: varies

McKelvey Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship Deadline: 01-25-09
Open to seniors who have demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit by owning and operating their own business while in high school. Apply online at www.mckelveyfoundation.org and click on the entrepreneurial scholarship section.

US Bank Internet Scholarship Program Deadline: 02-27-09
Thirty $1,000 scholarships will be awarded in a random drawing. Apply at www.usbank.com/studentbanking

Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation Scholarship Deadline: 02-01-09
A variety of scholarships are available at www.esaintl.com/esaf. Please be aware that there is a $5 processing fee for all scholarship applications.

2009-2010 Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Deadline: 11-24-08
Open to seniors with a 2.8+ GPA with outstanding academic leadership and dedication to community service. We can nominate one student from our school. See Deb if you are interested.
