Testing

Students planning to attend a 4-year institution will need to take either the SAT or the ACT as part of the admission process. ACT covers English, Math, Reading and Science. The SAT covers verbal reasoning and math reasoning.

The SAT costs $45. Fee waivers are available, contact Deb.

The ACT costs $46 with Writing, $31 without Writing. Fee waivers are available, contact Deb.

Students planning to attend SCC or SFCC will need to take the ASSET or COMPASS assessment. This is used as a placement tool for Math and English classes. You can take the test in the library and have the fee waived. See Deb for more information.

All students must take this math and English placement test. Running Start students take the Asset test, see your Career Specialist for a study guide.
