Mission Statement

The Spokane Public Schools Human Resources Department is committed to assisting both staff and applicants in a friendly, efficient manner.  We believe that it’s up to us to put the “human” in Human Resources, so that each person—whether employee or applicant—feels valued and respected.

Human Resources provides a variety of services throughout the school year.  A top priority is to hire high-quality educators and educational support personnel who can provide the very best educational environment for the students of Spokane.  Assisting us in achieving this goal are current practicing professionals who advise us on best practices regarding effective instruction and utilization of technology, enabling us to recruit those skilled individuals who are dedicated to helping and serving children.

Our commitment further extends to our employees.  Human Resources oversees the mentoring program for new teachers and works collaboratively with union representatives to prevent, as well as to resolve, employee issues. Further, based on staff input, Human Resources continues to refine processes and procedures in an effort to make them clearer, more streamlined and easier to access.
