and demonstrate fundamental movement in non locomotor, locomotor
and rhythmic patterns (i.e., skip, run, strike, throw)
- Establish
a beginning movement vocabulary (i.e., personal space, high/low
levels, fast/slow speeds, light/heavy weights, balance,
twist)
- Engage
in moderate to vigorous structured physical activity
- Introduce
nutrition concepts (i.e., food pyramid)
Think
Analytically, Logically, Creatively
- Apply,
with teacher reinforcement, classroom rules, procedures
and safe practices
Understand,
Demonstrate, Communicate
- Participate
in activities that require some physical exertion and/or
skill development, outside the regularly scheduled Fitness
& Health class (i.e., minimum 40 minutes each week with
classroom teacher)
Acquire
and Use Concepts of Equity and Diversity
- Participate
with others regardless of personal differences (i.e., gender,
ethnicity, disability)
Incorporate
Innovative Technologies
- Integrate
a variety of technologies (when available) as it applies
to improving content learning, and the learning of specific
skills (i.e., can launch an application program, video camera/recorder)

Fitness & Health Concepts
- Identify
activities in Fitness & Health that are enjoyable

movement activities and skills

employment possibilities in the field of Fitness & Health
