competence in modified versions of a variety of movement
forms using the skill themes of throwing/catching, striking
with body parts, striking with objects, body transport,
body management, physical fitness, and dance.

in the health related physical fitness test and identify
the fitness components (i.e., cardiovascular, flexibility,
upper body strength).
- Understand
and apply the basic elements of dietary guidelines for a
healthy lifestyle (i.e., proper nutrition, food pyramid).

- Identify
physiological indicators of exercise during and after physical
activity (i.e., heart rate, fatigue).
- Analyze
potential consequences when confronted with a behavior choice
(i.e., peer pressure, conflict resolution).

cooperatively and safely, in activity specific rules, in
competitive as well as cooperative settings.
- Recognize

in and out of the physical education class (i.e., contentment,

physical activity setting (i.e., sportsmanship, attitude,

Physical Education Concepts
- Explore
a variety of new physical activities for personal interest
in and out of the physical education class (i.e., unicycles,
pogo sticks, skating, outdoor activities).
