English 10A – Extra Credit

The Heroic Journey in Film

From the following list, choose a modern film that you feel best exemplifies the hero’s journey. In a 750 word minimum paper, provide a brief synopsis of the plot, and demonstrate the presence of the hero’s journey in the film. Provide adequate detail and argument to support your claims. Papers that simply summarize the plot and do not represent a complete understanding of how the film is an example of the heroic journey, will not be considered for credit. This paper is due Tuesday, January 3.
