The
Special Materials Library at Libby Center is a supplemental
resource library for special education providers
in Spokane Public Schools. Its primary purpose is
to assist in providing effective special design services
and materials to students. The SML was established
to: act as a central location for special education curriciulum
materials; make potential resources and materials available
for review and use; and facilitate teacher-to-teacher
sharing of ideas and teaching strategies. Here you
will find age/ability appropriate books, reproducible
workbooks, learning kits, manipulatives, cassette tapes,
videos, filmstrips, computer software, and games.
Staff-initiated suggestions for new materials appropriate
for district-wide use are encouraged. Libby's
Special Materials Library is open on school days Mondays
and Wednesdays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Tuesdays
and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The
SML is closed on Fridays. The Special Materials Library
is located in Room 130 in Libby Center.
