About The Pacific Institute Training Series

The Pacific Institute was founded in 1971 by Lou and Diane Tice in Seattle, Washington. The core mission of TPI (The Pacific Institute) is to offer practical and enlightening programs in the fields of cognitive and self-image psychology and high-achiever research. All of the Pacific Institute's programs begin with social learning theory and social cognitive theory.

The Pacific Institute training was started in the Facility Services Department of Spokane Public Schools with the goal of improving communication and team building within the organization. Several members of Facility Services have undergone portions of the training, and additional members continue to join the ranks of satisfied participants. Results seen thus far by those actively involved in the program include:

• Improved structure of communication
• Improved leadership style
• Inclusion in decision making and group conscious decisions
• Improved professionalism and self-worth
• Improved structure of support

It is the goal of the Pacific Institute Leadership Committee from Spokane Public Schools to educate the staff of the district as to the benefits of attending TPI. On November 14th and 15th of 2006, the leadership committee facilitated day 3 and 4 of 'Imagine 21 - Fast Track to Change'. The overall effectiveness of this enlightening program was realized in the numerous questions and discussions that it generated. At the end of the conference the group was challenged to relay the benefits received from the seminar to their co-workers. The groups desire to get involved was empowered by their acknowledgement that they can make a difference.

Leadership Committee

A Leadership Committee has been formed by school district employees who have undergone facilitator training. The committee will continue work on utilizing the skills they have acquired, as well as educating other employees to the benefits of attending The Pacific Institute.
