Get familiar with Teams and Clever. Share with your families what you are doing on Teams and during class times. Take them on a tour of your virtual learning environment. Your families can be your greatest support when it comes to troubleshooting technology, communicating with your teacher, and providing a listening ear and shoulder to lean on when you need emotional support.
Parents & Students - Ask Questions
Miss Arp, students, and families are all looking for students to be successful. However, life is filled with questions, technical difficulties, illness, and many other factors which can limit or hinder communication. When life happens, please keep Miss Arp informed. The easiest way to get ahold of Miss Arp is via her school email which is jessicaa@spokaneschools.org.
Students - Make a "Classroom" in your home
Designate a space in your home specifically for learning online. By doing this you will be able to have a spot where you can focus and seperate the rest of your space as YOU space versus school space.
Parents & Students - Check the Online Gradebook
Families and students, please check your online gradebook frequently to keep up to date with grades. Please note that students and their guardians have seperate login information to the online gradebook. Miss Arp will familiarize students with this process during the first few weeks of school. If you need any assistance or log-in information, please contact our Office Manager, Debbie Donohue.
There is a points-based grading system in this course. Each assignment will have a set number of points and at the end of term all points will be added to determine the final grade. If an assignment has a "0" or an "M" this means the assignment is missing and students should complete it ASAP. After they have completed the assignment and clicked the "Turn in" button on Teams they should send an email to Miss Arp and cc their parent/guardian to everyone know it has been completed. Late work will be scored after all current work if time allows. No late work will be accepted 5 student days prior to the end of term.
