What is Project BLT?
BLT is a district initiative to support teachers
in the use of technology to enhance and support student
learning.
What kinds of experiences do BLT participants
engage in?
Participants are immersed in interdisciplinary,
technology-infused lessons based on the GLEs with relevant,
authentic connections to our district curriculum. BLT training
develops teachers' technology abilities as support for best
instructional practices.
As part of the BLT training, participating teachers
experience:
- A standards-based, constructivist, learner-centered classroom
approach to instruction.
- The application of technology to support classroom instruction
and learning.
Participants have opportunities to flexibly apply what they
learn in BLT directly to specific activities in their buildings,
such as:
- Use of protocols for examining student work.
- Participation in collaborative, Lesson Study work.
- Application of thinking strategies to instruction.
- Instructional planning around the state standards (GLEs)
and assessments.
- Use of backward design process (UbD) as a format for instructional
design.
