GRADE 6: Solar System (DIST Kit)

The emphasis of the Solar System Unit is to get students involved in observing the sun, moon, and stars, and keeping a record of their observations. Through observing, collection, and analyzing data, as well as building models, students will develop an understanding of the apparent movement of the sun, the cycle of the moon, the movement of the stars and constellations, and a basic understanding of the planets. These observations will provide the date necessary for developing a model of the solar system.
