What is EOPS?
EOPS is a professional organization for support staff in the field
of education to encourage & promote professional development.
What can EOPS do for me?
The purpose of EOPS is to elevate the standards of educational office
professionals.
EOPS provides:
- Opportunities for networking and to share information and ideas
- Programs for development of personal and professional potential
- Recognition of achievements
- Fellowship
How do I join?
The annual membership dues of $15 may be paid by cash, check or
payroll deduction taken in October.. Information on joining will
be sent to you via interschool mail.
Sounds great but I’m just “so busy”. How much
time is involved in joining EOPS? Your membership can involve:
- No time (join and that’s it)
- A little time (attend one or more of the general meetings,
or
- Lots more time (depending on how many committees you would
like to join) You decide!

- EOPS offers a $600 yearly continuing education scholarship
to one member
- Many of our educational meetings offer you in-service credits
to apply toward your clock hour stipend
- There are great committees to join, giving you an opportunity
to meet others in our field and have fun!
- Our dinner meetings (three per year) offer both education AND
a social atmosphere
- The professional stipend program (PSP) may offer you more than
the secretarial union’s stipend per year. PSP is a voluntary
program established by the National Association of Educational
Office Professionals to encourage the professional growth of educational
office professionals. Check into it!
EOPS is a great opportunity to:
- Meet and socialize with other support staff in Spokane Public
Schools.
- Enjoy social and educational events and conferences.
- Apply for a $600 college scholarship offered each year to an
EOPS member.
- Meet others in your field from surrounding school districts.
- Allow us to leave the union issues to SEA meetings and focus
on fellowship and learning!
- Learn more about the PSP program. Spokane Public Schools recognizes
certain achievements by paying annual stipends.
- Join a committee and share your expertise (or learn some!).
