EXPRESS SCHOOL AGE CARE PROGRAMS

Summer Express Programs

The Express Summer Program offers full-day licensed childcare with fun and enriching activities for children and youth ages 3-12. The Express Summer Program is offered to children enrolled in a Spokane Public school during the regular school year. Each program offers age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, cooking, woodworking, academic enrichment opportunities, field trips and more! Children are grouped according to age and grade level:

  • Wee-Team: Preschool and incoming Kindergarten

  • E-Team: Incoming 1st-4th Grade

  • EXP2: Incoming 5th-7th Grade

All Express activities are supervised and staffed by responsible, energetic staff to ensure a safe, enriching and memorable experience for your child.

 

Hours/Days of Summer Express Operation

Program hours are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday beginning Wednesday, June 18, 2008 until Thursday, August 21, 2008.

Express Billing office summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday beginning Monday, June 16, 2008 until Friday, August 15, 2008.

Express Program will be closed Friday, July 4, 2008, in observance of Independence Day. Express Program will not be offered Friday, August 22 and Monday, August 25 through Friday, August 29 because of classroom and school site preparation for the upcoming school year.

Summer 2008 Express Sites:

  • Finch: 3717 N. Milton 354-2560 (available for ages 3-12)

    Located in Express Portable, cafeteria/multi-purpose room.

    Located in the northwest area of Spokane on Audubon Park
    Breakfast and Lunch will be provided

  • Ridgeview: 5610 N. Maple 354-3976 (available for children completing Kindergarten thru 6th grade)

    Located in community room, multi-purpose room, and classrooms.
    Located in the northwest area of Spokane
    Breakfast and Lunch will be provided

  • Roosevelt: 333 West 14th Ave. 354-4048 (available for ages 3-12)

    Located in classrooms, cafeteria/multi-purpose room.
    Located on the south hill within walking distance of several parks
    Breakfast and Lunch will be provided

Please register in our office or download the Summer Express forms below beginning Monday, April 21st.  All forms must be turned in to our office at 200 N. Bernard.

***Chose from the drop down menu your desired site and the grade your child is entering. Blacked out weeks mean enrollment has ended for that particular week.

To register your child(ren) for Summer Express, the following fees and forms must be completed for each child:

**Parents of children needing licensed nursing care must report the dates that such services are needed during the summer by June 6, 2008. Parents report these dates to the school nurse at their child's school. Parents must provide such services on any day that has not been previously scheduled. Licensed nursing care includes suck tasks as calculating insulin dosage and administering insulin. If you have any questions, please contact your school nurse.

All enrollment is limited to full-day participation. A minimum of a two week enrollment (two days per week) is required. No scholarships are available for Summer Express Program.

Summer Express is billed monthly. Payment is due by the 10th of the current month. Payments are received downtown by the District Cashiers, payments will not be taken at summer site locations. Payments may also be mailed to Spokane Public Schools, Express, 200 N Bernard, Spokane, WA 99201.

No illness or vacation credit will be given during Summer Express. Schedule changes or withdrawal from the program must be received in writing (e-mail/fax/letter) in the Express Billing office 10 or more business days prior to the schedule change..

Sibling Rate is calculated on the sibling needing fewer Express hours.
