Vision
Ready*Corps VISTA is
a program to work with the community in developing disaster preparedness
skills.
Mission
Spokane Public School District has Ready*Corps members placed at local social service agencies and working 15% of their time teaching SERT to all Spokane Public School District Middle Schools. These AmeriCorps*VISTA members
are not employees of the district but are national service members who
have dedicated a year of their lives to serving their community.
AmeriCorps*VISTA is often referred to as a domestic Peace Corps.
Ready*Corps members support a safe school environment and seek to
increase safety self-regulation among students, thereby, allowing
teachers and staff to focus more time and energy on academic
achievement.
