I was born in 1982 in Iowa City Iowa and soon after moved to Washington. My father was a Presbyterian pastor who served in Republic and Curlew for ten years then moved to Othello. I came to Spokane in 2001 to go to Whitworth where I earned a BA in Sociology and a minor in Theater. I then went to SFCC to take Chemical Dependency Professional courses. In 2005 I took an AmeriCorps position with Habitat for Humanity-Spokane with the construction department. After my 10½ month term, I reapplied and took another AmeriCorps VISTA position as the Volunteer Coordinator with Habitat for Humanity-Spokane and with the Spokane Public Schools teaching the SERT (Student Emergency Response Team) program. |
