I was born in Seattle, WA, and graduated from Holy Names Academy. I attended Gonzaga University, lived for three years in Arizona, and have been back in Spokane since 1973. I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1985 at Eastern Washington University. My husband and I have two grown daughters living on opposite coasts, in San Diego, CA and Chapel Hill, N.C.
After working in various companies for 35 years, I took a break from paid employment in January, 2007. I worked in payroll and Human Resources in Employee Benefits.
I have volunteered at the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery since January, 1996. I was the first Certified House Parent qualified at the Nursery, available for 4 or 8 hour shifts in direct child care. I am a volunteer program assistant at the Nursery, spending 20% of my time in direct service with the children.
