Ready*Corps /VISTA is looking for up to six new members to complete the 2008-2009 AmeriCorps team at Spokane Public Schools. The VISTA members will be housed at local community agencies and will spend 85% of their time at the community agency helping them with capacity building.  The other 15% of their time will be spent working with Spokane Public Schools in an after school setting.  These activities will include facilitating Student Emergency Response Team (SERT) clubs for middle school students. They will have the opportunity to be CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) trained in order to teach the student version of CERT.

AmeriCorps members work full time and are paid a monthly stipend of $833 for their service. The commitment starts August 25, 2008 and ends August 31, 2009. Medical and Childcare benefits are available for qualifying members.
