July 2007 Updates We have a terrific training opportunity coming up in August for Classified Substitutes who are interested in Secretarial/Clerical assignments. Classes in both SASI (Attendance) and SNAP (Nutrition Services) are offered at the Libby Professional Development Center. Both classes are going to be essentially “basic training” for these two critical computer programs which are utilized district-wide. Beginning SNAP is the basic beginning snap NUTS 401 for substitutes or new employees dealing with SNAP. The lab will hold 12 beginners each session and will be on a first come first serve availability. August 21 9:00 to 11:30 Please contact Shirley Gardner 354-5976 as soon as possible to reserve your spot in the SNAP training. Beginning SASI will be held on August 21 ONLY, from 1:00 to 3:30. Classroom size is limited. Please contact Marsha Tice at 354-5977 to reserve your place for this training. Every year we have some substitutes who forget to update their Security badges and this keeps them out of the classroom! You must update your Security badge BEFORE August 18 in order to teach in September. We do want to be up-to-date on your information so please keep the following in mind! If you move, please notify us so that we can make sure your mail gets delivered to the right address. Direct Deposit Paycheck Distribution Please be aware that while the last week of August is a great vacation time for MOST people, it is a busy hiring time for education folks! You may wish to plan your vacation accordingly. If you are going to be out of town during the last two weeks of August please mark your SubFinder calendar! SubFinder will be calling to set up subs for the 2007-2008 school year, don’t miss out on September jobs! Both Cathie and Kate have spent a lot of time in their gardens this summer. Cathie has caught “rose fever” and has been eyeing her yard in search of more sunny spaces to dig holes for her new obsession. Kate was feeling fairly condescending because after a recent trip to a local rose nursery, Cathie left with seven roses and Kate only came home with three. Cathie was quick to point out that she was only playing catch up and that Kate’s three roses were joining five which had been added in May and an unspecified number already established in the garden. Whatever your summer infatuation is, we hope you’ll indulge yourself just enough to feel a little bit pampered this year, you worked hard and you deserve it.
