Beginning in March, a K-6 Literacy Curriculum and Program Guides Committee will start work on revising the reading curriculum guides, developing the writing curriculum guides, and developing grade level literacy program guides. The work of the committee initially requires reading current research in best teaching practices and in the processes of reading and writing, and will finalize with the drafts of the literacy guides inclusive of a time-bound framework. Ultimately, once the work of the committee concludes, the K-6 literacy curriculum and program guides will be used by other coordinators to embed the reading and writing GLEs throughout the content areas.
