Counseling Support

  • Welcome, my name is Sarah Hansen, and I am the school counselor here at Cooper.  I grew up in Spokane and have lived here most of my  life.  I love ALL seasons, you can tell what season it is by what activity I am doing! In the Summer you might find me at Priest Lake, in the Fall you will find me at WSU Cougar football games, in the Winter you will find me skiing on Mt. Spokane, and in the Spring I could be busy with projects at home 😊.

I have a Human Development degree from WSU as well as a School Counseling degree from EWU.  Collectively I’ve spent 3 years at Cooper and cannot imagine working anywhere else. I thoroughly enjoy working with students in all levels of support; whether it be individual counseling, small group counseling, classroom guidance, as well as collaboration with staff and families. Being a school counselor allows me to work with all students, across all grade levels, throughout the year. My goal is to ensure all students feel safe, make healthy decisions, and have the skills to navigate independent problem solving.  I see my role as building positive relationships with kids and being an advocate for them, and this position allows me to do that.  My door is always open, and I look forward to strengthening the bond with our Cooper families.
