At Glover, students participate in a comprehensive fitness program that includes the use of heart rate monitors. Part of the student's grade is based on how much time they spend in their "target heart zone." This valuable information affords each student the opportunity to learn to exercise according to their individual fitness level. To aid in becoming fit, students will have the opportunity to work out in the Fitness Center. Each student goes through an orientation which includes learning the benefit of exercise assessment of each fitness level, proper use of machines and heart rate monitors, and keeping a fitness log. Students will also participate in a variety of individual and group based activities. Our overall goal is to promote lifetime physical activity, which will keep students fit while learning to improve quality and quantity of life. We as you to support in achieving this goal. Physical Education is not an elective. Each student is required to take P.E. for one semester. P.E. uniforms are mandatory and cost $12.00. If this is a hardship, you can speak to your student's counselor - 7th grade counselor is Rich Simonsen at 354-5338 - Physical Education Teachers Mark Schutz - Teacher and Athletic Director Joe Crowley - Teacher Pam Crowley - Teacher
