Business Plans -- can serve as the Senior Culminating Project

Students may choose to use this assignment as a fulfillment for their required Senior Culminating Project. In addition to the business plan, they will need to complete some other documentation. Please refer to www.theculminatingproject.com which explains the process in more detail and has the necessary documents you will want to download. Here are the additional requirements:

a. Fill out the academic mentor form (supplied by Mrs. Weiler).

b. Have the parent/guardian sign the Acknowledgement form (supplied by Mrs. Weiler).

c. Propose your project in a letter of intent. Must include honesty/integrity commitment statements. (A sample is supplied by Mrs. Weiler).

d. Begin your project, keeping all work in your portfolio. Fill out time log (this is required for the Business Plan anyway) while working.

e. Interview some community member (connections/arrangements made by Mrs. Weiler via guest speakers or people at the Biz Street Resource Center) and document the information received in the research paper and time log.

f. Research or I-Search Paper which explains the process used in completing the project. If the business plan is done in a group, each group member must write their own research or I-search paper.

g. Portfolio – keep all above documents as well as your notes and final project in an organized binder. See the website for a more detailed outline of the requirements for the portfolio.
