THE SPORTS MEDICINE PROGRAM AT LEWIS & CLARK HIGH SCHOOL

The Sports Medicine Program at Lewis & Clark High School is designed to provide
students with an opportunity to explore a variety of avenues in Sports Medicine, Physical
Therapy, Athletic Training and other health related fields. The program is beneficial in
giving students an understanding of the body and its ability to heal when injury occurs.
This program helps to provide life along skills in understanding the human body, and what
can be done to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It also provides students with an opportunity
to explore the possibility of pursuing the field of Medicine. This program is divided into 2
phases. The first phase is the Sports Medicine class and must be completed first. Once
this course has successfully been completed a student has the opportunity to sign up for
the phase 2, which is the Sports Medicine Clinical Class. This gives students a field
experience in an area they are interested in pursuing post High School graduation.
