Process:

Part One:

Each of you must perform the following steps:

1.  Read all assigned text pages and handouts.

2.  Prior to writing interview questions and compiling your probable interview answers, conduct research on the Internet, at home, or at the library, or utilize classroom resources to become knowledgeable about the time period in question and the respective viewpoints of the four groups.

3.  Develop a minimum of 8 interview questions for your viewpoint.  Some of your questions may be the same as the questions used by other group members in their interviews.

4.  Based on your research, assume the role of the person ou chose and answer your interview questions accordingly.

Part Two:

Your group must perform the following steps:

1.  After sharing your interviews and research and hearing all sides of the issue, decide as a group who you think is most responsible for both the outbreak and the continuation of the cold war.  Remember, you must provide documented evidence to support your opinion.

2.  Using your research and analysis, write an article that analyzes the historical perspectives and takes a stand, promoting the view you agreed upon in step 1.  Your article must provide facts to support your position.

--the article must be written in the style of an historical journal

--the article must be typed and 500-750 words

--the article must provide evidence to support your opinion from at least 6 verifiable sources

3.  Your final step is to share your information with the class during our Socratic seminar.  Everyone is expected to participate in the discussion.  You need to be ready to cite specific facts to support your viewpoint.
