Free Response Questions

Although the specific indicators vary from question to question, there are some generic standards that apply to the grading of all FRQ’s. Paying attention to these standards will help you to write better essays and ensure your success in this class.

The Free Response Questions are graded holistically. The extent to which your essay reflects the characteristics of the various categories will determine your essay grade.

***The FRQ Generic Standards changed in 2007.  Only use the standards given to you on this page and in class this year.  Older essay rubrics will not reflect the new standards.
