In short:

* The District prefers that students be transported to/from off-campus events on a Big Yellow Bus (Laidlaw) – it is the safest means of transporting our students.

* Employees, with valid drivers' licenses and personal auto insurance, can transport students to/from off-campus events in their own personal vehicles with principal approval but the employee’s insurance provides first coverage if involved in an accident.

* Students can not transport other students to/from off-campus events - period.

* Parents can not transport other students to/from off-campus events – they can only drive their own child and only with staff permission. And, staff can not organize parents to transport students to off-campus events - no car pools.

* Students may be transported to/from off-campus events in rented vehicles driven by a school employee (e.g., van) or by a charter bus company but only from an approved list of vendors screened and approved by the District’s Transportation Department.
