Safety and Security Checklist

Ø   Staff ID: You will need your school District Employee ID # (on your paycheck or call Payroll at 354-7333). Bring this information to the Security Department in the Admin Building and they will make you a Picture ID.

Ø   Parking Pass: You can obtain a parking pass in the Business Office.

Ø  Weekend use of LCHS: After completing Camtek requirements, please go to the ground floor staff room (#036) and sign in. The sign in sheet is there to record the date/time you arrive, along with room number and phone number or where you can be reached during your stay. Please write down the time you leave before exiting. If you leave your classroom and lights are flashing, please go to a Sonitrol Panel and disarm it. If you find that you are the last person in the building, you need to arm Camtek. Please contact DRO Dan Johnson if you would like additional training in this procedure.

Ø   Please inventory all items in your classroom: This information is required. Include in this list - item, make, model, serial # and district barcode. If the barcode is missing, the Business Office has these available for you. When completed, please turn them in to Katherine Cline-Bowman in the Business Office. If you bring personal property to LCHS, please complete this online form (copy and paste this to web browser), print it and give it to Katherine Cline-Bowman in the business office.

Ø   Secure Classroom: Please secure all valuables (laptops, cameras, personal items, etc.) Always lock your classroom/desk/cabinets when exiting and never leave your classroom opened and unattended/unsupervised.

Ø   Graffiti: This is an ongoing problem at LC, as it is in most schools. Please help by observing the writing assignments, notebooks, binder covers, clothing, etc. If you suspect or have questions regarding any gang related writings or pictures, please contact DRO Dan Johnson.

Ø   Weapons/Harassment/Bullying: When a student reports incidents of weapons, harassment, bullying or similar conflicts, immediately notify an administrator or DRO Dan Johnson.

Ø  Personal Safety Procedures: Never loan or let students use school keys. Never place school identification on key rings in case keys are lost and never set keys down where they may be picked up by others. When possible leave the school with another employee, and use the buddy system especially during hours of darkness.

Ø   Found Property: Property of value (ie. electronics, wallets, book bags, purses, etc.) should be reported to DRO Dan Johnson or Business Office ASAP to avoid unnecessary grief such as unnecessary police reports, student time away from class and parent stress and expense.

Ø   Report a theft: Contact DRO Dan Johnson to complete a police report. He will give you an incident/report number. There is a place for this number in the next form you need to complete. Please go to  http://intranet.spokaneschools.org/IncidentReports/

Complete this form - it will automatically be recorded after completion. Please print a copy and give it to the Business Office for school inventory.
