WELCOME MESSAGE

It is with great honor and enthusiasm that I join Lewis and Clark High School as principal. Like the great Jackie Robinson once said, "A life is not important except in the impact it has on other lives.” I have had a successful and rewarding career as both a teacher and assistant principal over the past fifteen years serving students, teachers and parents at both North Central and Ferris high schools and I look forward to continuing that work at Lewis and Clark.

As a school leader, I am most passionate about a vision that one day income and race will no longer be predictors of student achievement in our schools. In maximizing each student’s success, my leadership will continue the LC focus on high expectations for all and a belief in the potential of each student. In addition, I will work to cultivate a culture of teacher collaboration around high quality instruction as I believe it takes a collective effort to see this mission through. I care a great deal about our young people and the quality job we do in serving them. In the short time I have been at Lewis and Clark, I have been very impressed with the work of the leadership and teachers to ensure student success and look forward to being a part of that continued work.

Each student’s success is also founded on a strong partnership between school, home and the community. I encourage each parent to be involved with his/her student’s high school experience. We have an outstanding website managed by our assistant principal, Theresa Meyer that is designed to serve as a resource and support your connection to our work at Lewis and Clark.

I appreciate the warm welcome I have received from the Lewis and Clark community and look forward to our work together.

Principal Shawn Jordan
