What is it?

According to Microsoft, Equation Editor is add-on software that lets you build complex mathematical equations and insert them into such Office applications as Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Excel by picking symbols from a toolbar and typing numbers and variables. As you build an equation, Equation Editor automatically adjusts font sizes, spacing, and formatting.
