Summer school is back at Sacajawea!

Summer school is back at Sacajawea!  Our new Summer Sacajawea T-Bird Enrichment Program, or S.T.E.P., is an opportunity for qualifying students to get a step up on their eighth grade school year.  The two goals of the program are to set students up for early success in their eighth grade year and to expose students to organizational and study skills.

Students who enroll will participate in all four of our courses.  We are planning engaging activities designed to introduce students to the Hero’s Journey they will learn about in Language Arts.  They will be involved in a math class that gives students hands-on activities with sophisticated graphing calculators.  Students get a head start with the fundamentals of eighth grade science through exciting physics activities.  Our social studies class will allow students to either make up the Washington State History graduation requirement or become familiar with the U.S. Constitutional issues that will be covered in their eighth grade year. All classes in S.T.E.P. are designed to reinforce the study and work habits needed for continued success at Sacajawea and beyond.
