Literacy Queens

Please join Principal Meyer and the entire Salk team in our quest to send Shannon Gilfeather to Dallas for the national conference.  Please visit the link below and VOTE SHANNON!

Visit to VOTE before Oct. 10.

Salk Middle School reading teacher Shannon Gilfeather and Principal Carole Meyer were selected as 2014 Champions of Literacy for their work in building a love of literature in Salk students who previously struggled with reading.

This is the first year that the Scientific Learning Corporation is honoring 17 educators across the country for their work. The educator with the most online votes tallied by Friday, Oct. 10, will win an all-expense paid trip to the National Circle of Learning Conference in Dallas, Texas, in November.

Back To School: Dress Code Reminders

Please use the dress code and expectations document to guide your clothing purchases for the upcoming 2014-15 school year.
There have been a few revisions and clarifications made, so please review the document carefully.  Text boxes pointing to either Pat or Patty are for illustrative purposes and apply to both boys and girls equally as appropriate.  Thanks for your attention to the dress code and expectations and helping make Salk a great place to learn!
